Booking, payment, cancellation, damages, alcohol, photo, liability — the straightforward version.
Nine plain-English sections covering booking and payment, cancellation, conduct, damages, alcohol, photo permissions, liability, and governing law. Same logic as every USL booking: clear, flat, no surprises.
A 50% deposit holds your date. Balance is due 14 days before. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable. BYOB always, no corkage. The rest is below — and Carlos answers any clarifications personally.
A booking is confirmed when both parties have signed a written agreement (email confirmation counts) and Union Square Loft has received a 50% deposit. The balance is due no later than 14 days before the event or production date. Payment is accepted via Zelle (preferred), ACH transfer, Venmo, or Stripe. Late balance payments may result in cancellation of the booking.
Rates are flat for events (6-hour block) and straight-line hourly for production, podcast, focus group, and bachelorette services. All rates quoted include the room, all furniture, A/V, lighting, sound, prep kitchen, and Carlos on-site as the operator unless otherwise noted in the agreement.
Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event date receive a refund of the deposit minus a processing fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of the event are non-refundable. Date changes are accommodated when calendar permits, at no charge, with at least 14 days notice.
If Union Square Loft must cancel due to circumstances within our control, a full refund of all monies paid will be issued. If cancellation occurs due to force majeure (fire, building closure, public health order, etc.), a reasonable rescheduling will be offered or a credit issued.
The space is yours for the duration of your booking. You agree to use it lawfully and respectfully. Loud music must end by the agreed time (typically midnight on weekends), and guests must depart by the end of the booking window. Smoking is not permitted inside the building. Illegal drug use is grounds for immediate termination of the booking with no refund.
You are responsible for the conduct of your guests, vendors, and crew while in the space. Damage caused by guests is your responsibility.
Light cleaning is included — you do not need to mop floors or empty trash. Excessive cleaning required (spilled food/drink at scale, vomit, broken glass throughout the room, confetti or glitter beyond reasonable bounds) is billed at $100/hour at our discretion.
Damage to equipment, furniture, walls, fixtures, or the structure of the space is billed at replacement cost. A photo walkthrough is performed before and after every booking; the after-photos are the basis for any damage claim.
Union Square Loft permits guests to bring their own alcohol (BYOB) at no corkage fee. You are responsible for ensuring all guests consuming alcohol are of legal drinking age (21+ in New York). We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave if they appear intoxicated to the point of risk to themselves, others, or the property.
We do not sell alcohol and we do not hold a liquor license. Service of alcohol by a licensed bartender you hire is permitted but does not change the BYOB nature of the event — alcohol must be supplied by the host, not sold.
Union Square Loft retains the right to take photographs and short video clips of the space during your event for our marketing portfolio. Guest faces will be blurred or omitted in any publicly published material unless we have written permission. If you prefer no documentation photography at all, notify us in writing before the event and we will honor that.
Any photo or video footage you generate during your booking is yours, except that you grant Union Square Loft a non-exclusive license to repost the footage on our own channels with credit — unless you specifically opt out in writing.
Union Square Loft maintains general liability insurance covering the property and its operations. You are responsible for any personal injury or property damage caused by you, your guests, your vendors, or your crew. We recommend you obtain event insurance for any booking with more than 30 guests, and require it for any booking involving high-risk activities (open flames, professional pyrotechnics, stunt work, etc.).
Union Square Loft is not responsible for personal items lost, stolen, or damaged on the premises. Check coat and bag storage is available but unattended.
