Leadership

Carlos Montoya, Program Director

Carlos brings over 30 years of audiovisual expertise to Cultural Art Streams, operating from the historic Union Square Loft—a legacy studio with roots in mid-20th century American photojournalism. The loft has evolved from its origins shooting iconic book covers (Little House on the Prairie, Animorphs), romance novels (Harper Collins), and movie posters (Ocean's 11, American Psycho) to today's tech-customizable production facility.

Emerging from the creative arts and rave culture of 1990s Downtown Manhattan, Carlos has enhanced events and projects with technical expertise since 1992. He served as Executive Producer for TEDx Bushwick, NYC (2015-2016) and has designed complete A/V systems for focus group facilities and corporate events.

Carlos operates industry-standard equipment including the Sony FX6 cinema camera, Pioneer XDJ-XZ DJ controller, and professional audio systems—the same tools used in major productions worldwide. He has worked with major actors, musicians, and hosted countless creative and corporate events in the Union Square Loft space.

"Service runs in my family. My mother was a community leader in Queens who helped families in need by organizing donations, distributing groceries, helping women escape abusive relationships, and assisting with documentation. My parents served as missionaries in the Amazon, teaching language to indigenous communities. My father is a world-class art restorer with museum pieces globally and worked for Steinway pianos for 22 years. I've donated this space to organizations like the Search Dog Foundation and medical missions serving families overseas. Cultural Art Streams continues this legacy of service through creative education."
